Antibacterial / Viral Breathing Filter
The antibacterial / viral breathing filter with heat and moisture exchange is designed for use on the patient side of respiratory circuits and performs several functions simultaneously: filtering bacteria and viruses, reducing the risk of cross-contamination, and warming and humidifying the air passing through the breathing circuit. These filters are used as components of respiratory systems, ventilators, and anesthesia equipment to protect both patients and equipment from contamination. Electrostatic HMEF filters (Heat Moisture Exchange Filters) combine bacterial and viral protection with passive heat and moisture exchange functionality.
The filter design incorporates an electrostatic filtration mechanism and hydrophobic filter media, allowing effective retention of microorganisms while simultaneously maintaining the required humidity level of the airflow. Heat and moisture exchange filters are used to compensate for the loss of natural warming and humidification typically provided by the upper respiratory tract.
The transparent housing allows visual monitoring of the filter condition during use, while the integrated CO₂ port with Luer Lock enables connection to compatible monitoring equipment. These filters are typically intended for single-patient use for a limited operational period.
Key advantages:
- Combines filtration and heat-moisture exchange
- Helps reduce the risk of bacterial and viral contamination
- Electrostatic filtration mechanism
- Hydrophobic filter media
- Transparent housing for visual inspection
- Equipped with a CO₂ port with Luer Lock
- Sterile and ready to use
Key specifications:
- Product type: antibacterial / viral HMEF breathing filter
- User category: adults
- Maximum usage time: up to 24 hours
- Volume: 60 ml
- Patient-side port: 22 mm (M) / 15 mm (F)
- Circuit-side port: 22 mm (F) / 15 mm (M)
- Bacterial filtration efficiency: 99.9992%
- Viral filtration efficiency: 99.9970%

The combination of bacterial and viral filtration with heat and moisture exchange functionality makes these filters an important component of breathing circuits where maintaining airflow alone is insufficient — temperature, humidity, and reduced cross-contamination risk are equally important.
