STANDARD
When North American Rescue engineers were tasked with improving peripheral access to intravenous input, they paid attention to both aspects of the task: how the product will work and how easy it will be to work with. They have coped with difficulties (and then with some) with the help of a boo® narrowing tape, which is now a critical component of a successful intravenous cannulation.
The way it works is revolutionary. Since taping tapes were first conceived, the design has not undergone as fundamental a change as it has with BOA®. To improve central venous access every time, the BOA® uses a rotating mechanism to transfer venous blood to the distal veins, leaving the arterial flow intact. (For maximum effect, the BOA® is placed as high on the limb as possible.) This technique dilates the veins to make intravenous administration faster and more effective in even the most difficult patients.
