A durable outer shell made from a 5-ply composite fabric featuring a protected non-conductive reflective layer and a new insulation layer for enhanced thermal retention.
Rapid 360° access to the casualty with minimal exposure to the environment is achieved through continuous 1.5-inch (3.8 cm) hook-and-loop closures positioned along the perimeter of the cover.

The new insulation layer in both the top and bottom sections of the HRS-I™ exceeds the insulation performance of the Army Modular Sleep System Patrol Bag. This material is highly compressible and quickly regains its shape after unpacking.
The insulation is hydrophobic, meaning it does not absorb fluids or add extra weight while maintaining its superior thermal properties.
